The incident happened on Thursday 15 December 2011, which falls on the 21th lunar day of the 11th lunar month of December (7 December 2011 to 5 January 2012).

Investigating the nature of the elements of the flying stars along the North South axis, the elements are as follows:
我们来探讨南北地铁线的流星元素：3 流星属木， 7 流星属火和2 流星属土。
North sector (water element): The water element enhances the double 3 stars which belong to the wood elements. This is called Chi You Sha which means malevolent and merciless behaviour.
北方位（属水）：北方位的水元素增强了属木的两个3 流星， 加重了这个“蚩尤煞“， 导致恶性的行为，成为南北地铁线故障的触发点。
Central sector (earth element): The presence of the double 7 stars implies the intensification of fire element which is detrimental to MRT (metal element). In fact, the first station to be stalled is Braddell Station which is close to the centre of the North-South Line.
Double 7 stars also implies loss of fortune in Period 8, as a result of this incident, SMRT had lost significant amount of money and reputation.
7 star also mean youngest daughter, this implies the possibility of a female who may be implicated in the incident.
中宫方位 （属土）：两个属火的7 流星会刑克地铁 （属金）。其实， 最先发生问题的地铁站是布拉德尔站， 靠近南北地铁线的中部。

South sector (Fire element): The presence of the double 2 stars in the south sector makes it more severe as fire enhances earth. When these 2 stars meet together, it will cause illness. In this context, it causes “illness” in the MRT system, resulting in disorderliness and disruptions.
南方位 （属火）：属火的南方位加剧了两个属土的2 流星，因为火能增强土。 当这两个星在一起，会导致疾病。在这个情况，就是地铁“生病“，造成秩序混乱，服务中断。
