The incident happened on Wednesday 21 December 2011, which falls on the 27^th lunar day of the 11th lunar month of December (7 December 2011 to 5 January 2012).

Investigating the nature of the elements of the flying stars along the East West axis, the elements are as follows:

West sector (Metal element): The metal element clashes with the fire element of the 9 flying stars, resulting in accident and disruption. The station that experienced slight disruption was between that of Jurong East Station and Clementi Station. These 2 stations happen to be located in the West sector of the East West line.

Clash of metal and fire also represents “depletion and return of wealth”, this signified that although SMRT intended to increase revenue by raising fares, it had to increase its expenditure because of this incident.

西方位 （属金）：属金的西方位和两个属火的9 流星刑克，在这个情况，受到服务中断的地铁站是裕廊东地铁站和金文泰地铁站， 刚好位于东西地铁线的西方位。

金火相克也代表“财源的回收“， 尽管希望通过调高收费来提高收入， 可是为了这个事件，它需要付出更高的代价。

Central sector (earth element): The presence of the double 7 stars implies the intensification of fire element which is detrimental to MRT (metal element).
The incident on 15 December had already afflicted this sector, so we will not elaborate further.

East sector (wood element): The 5 stars appeared 2 times can cause bad luck and sometimes bring about fatal accidents.

This is confirmed by the car accident occurred in near Bedok South, the car collided into a lamp post resulting in fire explosion.

Bedok South is located in East Sector of the East West MRT line.
